Terry was drawn several times by Violet Lindsay who was a members of the Souls, a late-Victorian high-society clique noted for its artistic and intellectual interests. Lindsay’s own beauty was admired and painted numerous times by the likes of G F Watts and even Queen Victoria. Lindsay has drawn Terry as the age of 32. It is not known how the artist and actress became acquainted. Lindsay has used simple lines, conveying the resemblance of Terry through her strong features.
