Small Oil Study for 'Coriolanus'. For a most likely unrealised fresco commissioned by Charles Maurice Petty-Fitzmaurice for Bowood. The Study shows a central figure of Coriolanus with a child clinging to his legs. To the right a lightly inducated group of mostly kneeling female figures and children. To the left a group of five worrior figures surrounding a horse. Second of two small studies bound togeather as companion pieces.
