Seven Pen and Ink Compositional Studies for 'Sic Transit Gloria Mundi' drawn on a single folded sheet displayed unfolded, bottom half of sheet (below fold) two line drawings of a shrouded figure on a bier (full-length), head on the left; the drawing nearer to the fold is larger with a shallow arch indicated above the figure; in the top half of the sheet five further studies with a reverse orientation (ie: top toward the fold)-all showing the same composition as the two line studies but completed with dark ink wash in the arch niche above the figure and the shroud (tonal finish); studies of a shrouded figure for the allegorical (symbolist) subject picture
