Album of Photographs, Cartes de visite, Watercolour, Pen and Ink The earliest surviving work attributed to Mary is a decorated photo album. In this piece she created witty and imaginative watercolour settings for a selection of family photographs and collected carte de visite. Two dated pages in the album suggest that the book was decorated around 1865-67, when Mary was aged between 15 and 18.
