Four Rough Pencil Figure Studies: on the left-hand side of a sheet with a central fold mark a full-length draped female figure facing the viewer with proper left arm raised and resting behind her head-possibly an early study for 'Dawn' (even though the figure in the finished oil paintings depicted partially nude with her back to the viewer and with her right arm raised); on the right-hand side of the sheet three rough sketches of a male figure-the sketch at the top is the largest and shows a full-length figure facing to the left with the proper left leg slightly bent; studies of figures probably for mythological or allegorical (symbolist) subjects
